About Desert Raven Press

It all started in 2016 with a single book — a book about the Anasazi of Chaco Canyon, people who built something remarkable in the desert and then left without explaining. One book became several. Several became a shelf. Somewhere along the way it became a press.

Since 2016, we’ve published under a handful of names and imprints — Shadowplay, Brooks Audiobooks, Science Fiction Audiobooks, Marcy Michael, Santa Fe Publishing. Good names, all. But a man with five hats still has one head, and everything now lives here, at Desert Raven Press.

What we publish: science fiction in the classic style, when the future was written by men who typed fast and slept little. Westerns, where the weather matters. Mysteries with a little smoke in the room. Sea stories, history, the occasional tale of someone surviving something they had no business surviving.

You can have them as ebooks, on the device you’re holding. As audiobooks, in your ears on the drive to work. Or as paperbacks — actual books, with actual heft, on your porch.

Desert Raven Press is small on purpose. We publish stories for the hour after dinner, when the phone is in the other room and the story has you by the collar. If that sounds like your kind of hour, the list is here, and we look forward to connecting with old friends and new.
