In the heart of ancient Egypt, where the Nile's rhythm shaped life, a young Pharaoh named Akhnaton inherited a kingdom at the height of its power. Born to Queen Tiy, a woman of Syrian blood who shaped his reign, he was a pale, sickly youth with a misshapen skull and bouts of epilepsy. As Pharaoh at age eleven, he defied centuries of tradition by declaring the sun god Aton the only deity worthy of worship. While the priests of Amon-Ra watched in growing unease, Akhnaton began dismantling Egypt's religious landscape, replacing temples to multiple gods with a single, radiant faith. His vision of peace and monotheism clashed with the warrior traditions of his ancestors, and as his empire began to crumble in Syria, he faced a choice: abandon his principles to save his kingdom, or hold fast to the light that had become his life's purpose.
